In 2020, the company Holcim (formerly Lafarge) faced a significant challenge - transforming its website to fully meet dynamic market demands. The determined need to adapt to the changing business landscape prompted Holcim (Lafarge) to collaborate with the Goodc team. Our team consists of experienced UX/UI specialists and skilled web developers. We committed not only to creating a visually appealing website but also ensuring it meets the highest standards of functionality.
This text summarizes our three-year collaboration and its effects up to 2023. Currently, Lafarge has undergone rebranding, becoming Holcim.
Our collaboration with Holcim began three years ago and has significantly evolved since then. It started with a thorough understanding of the specific needs of the construction industry. The Goodc team engaged and fully immersed itself in the world of Holcim, laying the foundation for the development of a personalized action plan.
Thanks to the seamless cooperation between UX/UI specialists and developers, we not only met Holcim's basic expectations but also expanded them significantly. The result of this harmony was a visually appealing website design that captured attention, along with a platform ensuring an intuitive and efficient user experience.
Holcim encountered difficulties related to the extensive process of adding content to its website. Delays in updating information and the inability to publish content within the set deadlines posed a growing challenge for the company.
At Goodc, we successfully addressed this issue by introducing a new feature: the content editor. With our solution, we significantly reduced the waiting time for adding content to the website. Additionally, we took care of managing Holcim's internal system, leveraging our technical knowledge and expertise in the UX/UI field. This enabled us to provide immediate support and high-quality guidance.
By introducing the content editor role, we successfully eliminated the problems associated with the lengthy process of adding content and delays in publishing according to the expected deadlines. For Holcim, operating in the construction industry where new products and specifications are regularly introduced, our actions facilitated the smooth updating of information right from the beginning of our collaboration.
In the initial phase, we focused on minor modifications to the website, such as adding documents, articles, and updating contact information for specialists. Over time, our collaboration expanded, encompassing extensive development of product pages, systematic enrichment of blog content, and the regular publication of press releases.
As our collaboration continued, we not only met Holcim's initial expectations but also successfully adapted and expanded the platform to suit their evolving needs.
One of the key challenges we faced was successfully migrating from Drupal 7 to Drupal 9. Thanks to the determination and dedication of the team, we managed to accomplish this task, ensuring a smooth transition and avoiding the loss of valuable data.
This migration process proved to be a milestone in our collaboration.
